The Cherubs Clubhouse is more than just play and party time. One of the goals of the organization is to provide a center for fine arts classes for children and to develop a spirit of community. We are offering many new classes this fall to give kids an opportunity to learn and have social interaction with peers their own age. The Cherubs Clubhouse brings many different developmentally appropriate classes for children to one place. Children enrolled in classes enjoy free playtime at the clubhouse after class each week. The siblings of enrolled students enjoy free playtime during the classes. For the fall we will be offering art, dance, Kindermusik, piano, and violin. We will have classes for kids of all ages-- 0 through school age.

August 5 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, we will be hosting a free meet the teachers event at the Clubhouse. We will also be having short demonstrations of some of the various classes we offer to allow the children to try many different offerings. More than just playtime

The Cherubs Clubhouse has really been rocking all summer! Many have come for open play to beat the heat. The mother's day out program has been a success! It is the perfect place to come play and party.

If you haven't checked our class schedule in a while, please visit www.cherubsclubhouse.com and click on "learn." The purpose of the Cherubs Clubhouse is so much more than providing a safe place for children to play and providing one of a kind birthday parties. We offer classes at the Clubhouse to provide enrichment opportunities in addition to the playtime. The classes do more than just educate the children or provide them with "something to do". They provide a community for the children as well as the parents. The classes are an instant playgroup for the children. The kids in class together begin to know each other and feel comfortable interacting together outside of the classroom. All classes include 30 minutes of playtime following the class. This is when the kids can freely interact with each other and learn to play together.

How often are we distracted by housework, our jobs and television when we are at home with our children? Many of our classes include the parent or caregiver in the class. This is a perfect opportunity for uninterrupted "mommy and me" time. Dance classes are now being offered on both Mondays and Tuesdays. Call 621-2123 for more information about dance. Do you remember being a kid and playing all over the neighborhood? I remember going through walks in the woods with my cousin and walking 3 or 4 streets over just to drop in on a friend. Do you remember being a kid and going outside to play with friends? "Playdates" did not have to be orchestrated. You simply walked outside and and that's where all the other kids were. Today, you don't see many children walking to the nearby park to play or exploring the neighborhood. Kids seem to play only in their own yard or at home with their video games and computers. The Cherubs Clubhouse provides a safe place for kids to experience a little bit of that freedom and imagination we had growing up. Classes at the Cherubs Clubhouse

Looking for something to do with your kids this summer? Dance with Ms. Nicole is on Monday and Tuesday at 10:00 am followed by 30 minutes of free playtime at the Cherubs Clubhouse! Ms. Nicole classes provide a strong foundation for dance study as they work on balance, movement to the beat, and expression. Call 621-2123 to register.

Our spring term of Kindermusik just finished and we are gearing up for our summer classes. Because of the amount of interest in music, the Imaginations Music Studio has added a new teacher, Ms. Erika to teach some of the Kindermusik classes. Erika is a licenced Kindermusik instructor, a piano instructor and has experience working with special needs children. Piano classes are in full swing this summer! We have had many new students come for our introduction to piano classes. We still have 2 classes left on July 22 and July 29. Mrs. Lauren has compiled her own piano activity books which have been premiered at our classes this summer. Our pre-school piano classes in particular are unique to the Cherubs Clubhouse. Come on out to Cherubs Clubhouse Saturday, Feb. 14th from 5 to 8pm.

We will be hosting a "Share the Love" Fundraiser for fallen Pelham police officer Phillip Davis' family.

Cost per Family is $20.00. There will a DJ, Lite snacks, finger foods, drinks, cup cakes, and cake. You may also purchase tickets for a chance to win raffle prizes. Raffle tickets will be 6 tickets for $5. There will be massage gift certificates, Klassy Clean, Paul's Diamonds, Strike Force, Alterations by George and more up for grabs. The Davis Family will be in attendance and will be given a free membership and bonus card to the Cherubs Clubhouse.

Snow plan for Thursday demos!

The possibility of snow in Alabama is exciting! It is all everyone can talk about this week and I know that soon the stores will be void of milk and bread. Whoever decided that we all need to stock up on bread and milk in the case of a few flurries is making millions off of Alabama! If it snows, the schools will close, in fact the entire state will shut down for even a few inches and we will all cuddle by the fireplaces drinking hot chocolate, eating chicken noodle soup and watching movies.

I am keeping a watch on the weather for our demo classes this week. As of now, I am still planning to have our demonstration classes on Thursday. Anyone who has lived in Alabama for very long knows that as soon as you change your schedule for a predicted snow day, the snow will come another day or not at all. However, in anticipation of the snow later this week, we are also going to offer a demo piano class on Wed. afternoon. PLEASE EMAIL imaginationsmusic@bellsouth.net if you would rather come Wed.

We have many upcoming events at the Cherubs Clubhouse!

Dec. 3 at 5:00 and Dec. 4 at 10:00 we will be having Christmas parties! Come for playtime, music and a visit from the north pole! Admission is $8.00 per child.

Our mini terms of dance and piano class begin in December. Dance will be held on Tuesday mornings. Piano will be held Thursday afternoons at 4:00 for kids 4 to 7. No materials are needed for these sample classes. Come try them out and see which classes you like! $8.00 per class. Our full terms of musis and dance will begin in January.

Birthday parties at the Cherubs Clubhouse!!

If you are looking for a new and unique place to have your child's birthday in the Birmingham area, look no further! At the Cherubs Clubhouse, located in Pelham Al, we specialize in making your child's party a day to remember. This weekend we have been booked with parties. We had a "monsters vs aliens" party this morning, followed by a fairy party and a Wii sports party. We have had all ages at the clubhouse today playing on the indoor playground, and rolling around in the giant blow-up hamster ball-- you'd have to see it to believe it.

Our first party today was a Kindermusik party and the children had a great time singing, playing and moving to the "monsters vs aliens" theme. They also had a blast on the indoor playground! After that, we pulled out the costumes for a fairy party. The boys dressed as knights with shields and swords. The girls were fairies and princesses. The last party group was a little older and excited to have the Wii and all the games in the back room.

Be sure to book your birthday party at the Cherubs Clubhouse before we fill up. We already have parties booked through June! We have the imagination to pull off just about any theme you can think of. We have bumper cars for race car parties, puppets, tons of costumes and accessories, crafts, movies, games for all ages, and music. You can bring your own things in to do your own theme. You will also have the entire clubhouse for yourself for 2 hours. We only book one birthday party at a time, so you will not be shuffled from one area to another or rushed from activity to activity. We also have plenty of space and appropriate seating for adults and family members during the party.

Demos!

We had a great turnout for our demos yesterday! Thanks for everyone who came! We are currently registering for our November Kindermusik and dance classes! Be sure to call 621-2123 to sign up!

Due to popular demand, we are now offering more Kindermusik demos next Wed., November 11 at 10:00 and at 2:00! We would love for you to come and see what Kindermusik is all about at the Cherubs Clubhouse and stay for 15 minutes of play time after class.

We also have 3 kids already signed up for our ABC Music and Me class starting Novemeber 12-- we have 5 more spots available! Be sure to sign up as soon as possible to reserve your spot in the class and have your materials ordered in time. Class will begin on November 12 at 4:00 pm and is for 2 to 7 year olds.

I can't believe its here! The doors to the Cherubs Clubhouse are opening! After over two years of preparation, this day has finally arrived! Drop by and see what all the fuss is about! We will be open today, Saturday October 24 from 9 to 5 and will open our doors again on Sunday at 12.

We will have goodie bags with coupons to local businesses, discounts to some of our services, and door prizes. Come let your kids play for free and stay as long as you like. And remember, its more fun to play with a friend so bring some friends along!

Cherubs Clubhouse LLC, a unique place to play and learn

Kathy Sciarrotta, the managing partner of the Cherubs Clubhouse, LLC was born in North Miami and lived most of her life in Florida. In July of 2005, she and her husband Joe moved to the Birmingham area when he took an executive chef position at a hotel and resort in the area. Kathy was pregnant with her first child and knew no one in the city. After her son was born, she began to look for activities within her community. She discovered a true need in the Shelby and Jeffereson county area for a way for new moms to get togther and support each other. To meet this need, she started the Chubby Cherubs meet up group. It started with 5 members in 2006 and has grown to over 70 members in three years. Kathy has been interviewed by ABC 33/40, The City of Helena news, and has been seen on shelbyspotted.com. From this, she decided to start the Cherubs Clubhouse which is opening in mid October in the Pelham area. The Cherubs Clubhouse will provide a magical and unique, family-focused, fun learning environment based on mind and motion. Kathy’s love of dancing, drama, gymnastics, music and people-especially children- led her and her family to create the Cherubs Clubhouse, LLC. The clubhouse, located off of highway 31 in Pelham, will provide a unique offering of enrichment classes, activities and events for children and families. Some of these classes will include, mind and motion development classes, dance and movement, arts and crafts, fitness and fun, drama and imaginative role play, Kindermusik and private music lessons, tutoring and reading readiness classes. Some of the services provided will be birthday parties, private parties (with sitting service), daily sitting services, sitting services for parent’s night out, and open gym play time. There will also be a game room for older kids. The sitting service will particularly useful to parents who have moved to this area and do not have family in town to babysit, those homeschooling children, or parents who simply do not have any daytime childcare options. The Cherubs Clubhouse will provide a safe and fun atmosphere for kids so mom or dad can go to a doctor’s appointment, an event or even just to run errands. The Cherubs Clubhouse, LLC will also provide activities for a wide age range of children. From infants in the Kindermusik classes to school aged kids coming for tutoring, all ages will have a place at the Cherubs Clubhouse. Sharron Hughes, managing partner and education director of the Cherubs Cluhouse, has an AA in early childhood development from Miama Dade College, a BS in English from St. Thomas Univeristy, and a Master’s degree in reading from Barry University. Sharron, who has been a teaching for almost all of her life, has been featured in Who’s Who American teachers two times. From tutoring to enrichment classes, the clubhouse will have a wide variety of educational opportunities for kids of all ages. Classes will be taught by highly trained and experienced experts in various fields of study.In addition to the sitting services and the enrichment classes, the Cherubs Clubhouse will also be the events hosted there. Some upcoming events will begin in mid October and continue through the beginning of November. The clubhouse will be hosting Halloween parties for kids of all ages as well as free Kindermusik demonstrations. Birthday parties will be unique at the Cherubs Clubhouse. The birthday party room will be have a “homey kitchen” feel. There is also a wide variety of entertainment options for the birthday events. In addition to children’s birthday parties, the clubhouse will also be a location to host other events. Joe Sciarrotta, the managing partner and private parties coordinator, will be able to provide superior advice for these events due to his extensive background in catering. Joe has an associate’s degree from the Culinary Institute of America and is the executive chef of a major hotel and resort in the Birmingham area.
