Enrichment Classes for Birmingham Homeschooling Families!

We are opening up a few new classes at the Cherubs Clubhouse especially for homeschooling families! These will be on Thursday mornings starting in January. Our piano classes at the Cherubs Clubhouse feature 6 electronic keyboards, computer technology, and hands on theory materials. By taking piano in a class, students learn to work together as an ensemble, work on rhythm and build friendships. Our piano classes are taught using the Mayron Cole Method for group piano which focuses on building strong music reading skills, developing a sense of rhythm and nurturing a deeper understanding of theoretical concepts.

Our ABC Music and Me class for 4 to 6 year olds at 10:00 is a music enrichment course designed for use in schools. Created by Kindermusik International, ABC Music and Music and Me was a finalist for the 2006 Golden Lamp award for academic excellence. In ABC Music and Me, we feature drums, trumpet, strings and wind instruments and include an introduction to the piano using our keyboard lab at the Cherubs Clubhouse. We also work on our singing skills while singing songs in other languages, learning to read musical notation and exploring music history as we learn about major classical composers. We use props such as scarves and a parachute for movement activities as well.

Each class also include 15 minutes of play time on the Cherubs Clubhouse play gym following our class. Another feature of these classes is that siblings can play on the gym equipment during the class! Come join us for music classes!
